Roster MovePods

Scott Podsednik was placed on the disabled list and Brian Anderson, a first round pick in 2003, joined the club.  "BA" was hitting .295 with 69 runs scored, 23 doubles, three triples, 15 home runs and 54 RBI in 111 games.  Brian arrived at about 3:30 pm and is available tonight.

Hopefully, this down time will give Pods a couple of weeks to rest his legs and come back 100 percent for the stretch drive.

Sox Lineup

Perez, LF … Uribe, SS … Everett, DH … Konerko, 1B … AJ, C … Dye, RF … Rowand, CF … Blum, 2B … Crede, 3B … Contreras RHP.

Yesterday’s Showers

Yesterday was frustrating in that had we been able to quickly begin playing the game after the second rain delay, we (the White Sox) felt there was enough time to make it an official game.  The weather did not cooperate, and we waited quite a while to see if we could resume play.  Of course, once the game was called, the rain let up quite a bit.  We ended up arriving home at around 11:00 pm.

No word yet on a makeup date, although September 5 is the only mutual off day for the two teams.

Is anything wrong with Iguchi? This is two games in a row he sits in favor of Geoff Blum.

Actually, both teams have August 22nd off, too. Of course, Boston will be going from LA to KC, so they probably wouldn’t want a side trip to Boston in-between.

I heard one report that the game would only be made up if it might affect Boston’s playoff chances (the Chisox playoff berth being taken for granted).

Can someone explain why Perez led off the game yesterday? Or for that matter, why he remains in the starting lineup?

Last year he produced in pressure situations (late innings/RISP opportunities) coming off the bench. It’s his role. This season, he’s neither contributed off the bench OR as a starter.

I realize how important chemistry is for Ozzie, but Timo’s poor batting average, OBP, OPS, and basically every other conceivable statistic concludes he’s a million dollar clubhouse buddy. You can’t even say he has leadoff speed– an attribute which Harris/Ozuna possess.

I’d like to see Anderson tomorrow, but I know since Perez is batting nearly .300 career off Radke we’ll see him patrolling LF. Or RF, depending on Guillen’s willingness to sit Dye (poor career numbers against Radke) in place of Anderson. I’m hoping we see him start one of the final two games. Nothing more beneficial to a rookie than beginning your career against either Brad Radke or Johan Santana. He couldn’t possible be much worse than Timo, that’s for sure.

This is a random question. Maybe someone can help me out. Does anyone know where I can download the old song Go Go White Sox. It gets played at every game and I think its awesome. Keep up the good work and GO SOX!
