Postgame Comments from Ozzie Guillen

"We needed that one."

"I told my kids today … we laughed about it … that I’m not going to lose this division because I have 30,000 people helping me manage."

"I’m worn out (after a game) every day since Opening Day.  It’s been a battle since Day 1."

"How can you be a loser and a choker when you win 91 games?"

From Joe CredeCrede_2

"It was a fastball, inner half.  I was looking fastball and it was up and out a little.  It probably didn’t have the sink he wanted on it.  I was able to put a swing on it and get good wood on it."

"I’ve had other walk-off home runs and game-winning hits, but it was either early in the season or we were out of it.  With us in first place and a week and a half left in the season, this is probably one of the biggest hits of my career."

On his ability to collect game-winning hits:  "I guess situations like that make your concentration level go that much higher.  You’re in a zone, and I try to tell myself, if he makes a mistake, capitalize on it."

"Nothing is clinched yet."

"We’ve won 91 games already, but the bottom line is to make the playoffs.  If we win 95 or 96 games, it’s tough to say you’re choking.  Sometimes, you have to tip your cap to the other guy."

Thank you Joe. Now win tomorrow and we can all begin breathing again.

YES!!! Joe! We needed this..let’s get another win tomorrow!

Go Sox!!

OMG, I CAN’T TELL YOU HOW HAPPY I AM . JOE HAD TWO HOMERS AND HE LIFTED US PAST THE *** HOLES. WE ALL LOVE YOU CREDE AND WE LOVE EVERYONE WHO TRYED HIS BEST IN THIS GAME. THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT WIN. AND GUYS NOW AFTER WE GONNA SLEEP WELL TONIGHT WE SHOULD CONCERTRATE ON TOMMOROW’S GAME WE SHOULD NOT LET IT GO AWAY. I CAN’T TELL YOU HOW THE FEELING WAS IN US. CELLULAR FIELD. WE WERE ALL SCREAMING AND JUMPING LIKE CRAZY, LOL. THIS WIN GAVE US THE 3GAMES AND A HALF LEAD, AND LET’S MAKE IT 4 AND A HALF, PLZ. IF OUR SOX PLAY AS HARD AS THEY DID TODAY, THEY WILL WIN IT AND THEY WILL KICK SOME A$$E$. AGAIN THANK YOU BUEHRLE AND HERMANSON, AND LETS NOT FORGET CLIFF WHO DID A GREAT JOB AS WELL. MAYBE OZZIE SHOULD RETHINK BEFORE PUTTING JENKS IN CHARGE WHEN WE HAVE ONE OR TWO RUN LEAD, HE IS STILL YOUNG AND I THINK HE SHOULD TRUT HERMANSON MORE. JENKS WAS ABOUT TO BLOW HIS SECOND STRAIGHT GAME WITHOUT THE HELP OF HERMANSON AND CREDE. YES HE GOT 2 STRIKE OUTS BUT HE TIED THE GAME AT 6. SO I THINK THAT HERMANSON HAS MORE EXPERIENCE AND I THINK OZZIE SHOULD THINK ABOUT THAT. MAN , I CAN’T TELL YOU HOW HAPPY I AM RIGHT NOW. AND MAN I WAS SO PISSED OFF WHEN MY FRIEND TOLD ME THAT THE STAFF AT WGN TV WERE HAPPY WHEN WE COULDN’T SCORE A RUN IN THE NINTH. THEY DID IT WHEN THEY WERE AIRING THE NEWS. THAT *****, THE SPORTS GUY THOUGHT THAT THE WIHTE SOX SCORED BUT THEN HE FOUND OUT THAT THESE GUYS WERE A PUNCH OF STUPID CUBS FANS. ANYWAYS WE WON AND THAT IS THE IMPORTANT PART. WE ALL I CAN SAY NOW IS GOOD NIGHT AND LETS SEE WHAT OUR GUYS GONNA DO TOMMOROW. AND GO SOX GO SOX GO SOX…. MANAR ALBAROUDI

AND AS OUR ANNOUNCERS LIKE TO SAY IT,,,, YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARD YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS. GO SOX…

I can’t remember another walk off home run this season for the Sox. Maybe I’m just brain dead from the last month. Was that their first one? Game winning hits yes, but walk off homers, I can’t remember. Let’s go now and put this horrible stretch behind us.

Aj hit one on a great saturday night against the dodgers.

What a game!!! It’s good to see the guys fight back and win this one. Anyone else see that wonderful play in the 7th when Aaron hit a sac fly, Paulie scored, the Indians overthrew 3rd base and AJ went running by and stepped on Aaron Boone? What a great play!!! That play in the 8th was all Aaron’s fault. Bobby did a **** of a job. And where is that lilj character? He hated on Crede for months.

And one more thing, it was good to hear a energetic crowd last night. Great game White Sox!!!

And that is the epitome of the team we love- nothing but heart and determination….we weren’t going to give up that game. Lets finish it off today baby!

You’re absolutely right bconrad. We refused to be denied last night, we took what was rightfully ours and that was something beautiful. After listening to every sportscaster and their mother talk about how much we blow, we finally did some talking on the field. We’ve been neglected by the media the whole year and now that we hit a rough spot they deem us newsworthy. Move it along vultures! And when did Mariotti become the voice of the White Sox? All I know is that play by Uribe was nothing short of incredible. I got goosebumps just thinking about it. And Crede, you’ve been a different player since coming off the DL. Hopefully Hernandez has a similar resurgence after he gets fully rested. Great game fellas. Finish the job tonight and go for the jugular. Let’s bury these bums!

w00t sox

Remember after that series in Cleveland when we swept those bums at the Jake? Well after that game Casey Broke of the tribe said that we aren’t a good team and their tema is just as good. It looks to me now that our record against them so far this season is now 11-4. Looks like Casey had to eat his words once again. It’s great to continue to slap the AL Central around and dominate our division.

Hope everyone remembers his hit last night when, come April, all these fans are screaming for Crede to be traded. Way to go White Sox, let’s hope this is the start of a runaway.

Projek21, I’ll admit I’m one of those that had some concerns about Crede. I didn’t ask for him to be traded, but I just believe that he is more talented than we see. I’d really like to have seen the consistency we are now seeing, all year long. He has great potential…let’s just hope he continues. We owe the game to him last night, and I won’t soon forget that!

Wow! That’s all I can say, wow! I said this a couple of days ago and my prediction was right. This end of the season is going to be fun. This is what baseball’s all about. Sox fans, our best bet is to not listen to any media at all and just watch our team play good baseball. These last two games have been the best games I’ve seen in years. Win or lose this last one, i’ve never been more happy being a baseball fan my whole life. Crede said it best. We’re not chokers, sometimes you just have to tip your cap to the other team. What is baseball all about? The **** about this will be the biggest upset in history, blah blah blah… Forget all that. Is this game about numbers? Nope! What kind of feeling did you experience when Joe hit that ball? You got it! I love this game. Wow!

I’m looking forward to tonight’s game for a lot of reasons. None more significant than the response of Jon Garland. This game is the very definition of pressure and the young man has had a breakthrough season. Tonight will be the litmus test that determines if Garland is truly over that proverbial hump. Judging from his last outing in Minnesota I think he is. One way or another this will be a pivotal game for both teams. Keep the momentum going. Give us your A game tonight Garland and let’s send the Tribe to KC with something to panic about.

Far and away the best baseball game I’ve ever watched. Far and away.

Just started breathing. It’s a good feeling! Thanks Joe!!

Scott Reifert — did you investigate what went on with the post-season tickets?

you should hae scrolled down the page dnewport.

Postseason Tickets

A few readers responded with personal complaints or stories about purchasing (or trying to) postseason tickets.

I again have checked with our ticket office, TicketMaster and MLBAM folks about Friday’s on-sale. They said there were no technical issues with the sale, that any issues customers experienced were based on the high demand.

They asked me to solicit specific issues from anyone impacted so they can see if there is anything that can be tracked or learned. If you can, take a few minutes and email me (“offline” away from this blog) your specific details/circumstances. I will pass them along to the appropriate people.

alright i have searched forever and i can not find Scott’s email address can someone help me out so i can let him know the troubles i had with the tickets. Thanks

Lets go Garland tonight.
I figured out Clevelands weakness: Groundballs, pop-ups, and throwing.

They have an error in 10 of the 15 games against us. We have won 11 of them.

Last night was crazy, i had to listen to the game since mlb.tv had the tribes biased broadcast, so i didnt get to see this live, but here it is:
