This isn’t a huge deal, but I thought i’d just let you know that your date is off by one number (it’s really Saturday the 22nd).

Last night was one of those amazing games…patience certainly pays off. These guys look to be clicking on all cylinders =). I will, unfortunately, miss most of tonights game as my daughter is in a musical…you think they’d schedule those around the 2005 World Series Champions :)~ I’ll be cheering in my heart and look forward to the additional W later this evening!! GO SOX! -Dawn

Hopefully Freddie will come out settled down. A nite game at home is not his ideal scenario. I will be watching and cheering from the core of my being! GO SOX!! Grinder Rule #71 ‘If at first you succeed, REPEAT!’

Twins – 3
Thome – 4

Scott,

You must pass my thanks along to Kenny for picking up Thome. As I watched him out there tonight, it finally hit me (9 home runs, how many walks, and 17 straights game scoring streak into it…haha) how big of a pick up he is. What he has done for us on the field is tremendous, but I want you to thank Kenny for picking up Jim for who he is off the field. I’m so proud he has joined our clubhouse- every single one of them are great.

Everything sure is clicking right now- our pitching is solid, the hitting is phenominal, and its only April.

Keep grindin’ it out, Go Sox, and see y’all tomorrow with our big man on the mound.

Thome is a freak of nature. I had the privelege of being at the game last night and the house was rockin’. We were in the upper deck but still close enough to see Freddy get back to top form. I had an interesting conversation with two Twins fans from Bemidji about their young pitcher Liriano. Say what you will about Twins fans (and I’ve probably said it all) but the majority of them are knowledgeable and civil.

The best part of the game happened before the opening pitch though. I was waiting for my sister to get off the train by Gate 6 and who do I see out the corner of my eyeball; none other than Minnie Minoso! I was practically floored, he was just walking by his lonesome with this big smile on his face. I sprinted towards him and he probably thought I was mentally unbalanced but he humored me, shaking my left hand with his (his right hand hurts from arthritis, but incidentally that’s where he wears his 2005 championship ring, which is visually stunning close up). He even let me give him a hug as I gushed praise on this living legend. It was a moment I’ll never forget and a story I’ll probably tell my grandchildren over and over again. What a game!

Palehoses…what an amazing experience for you.. I’m jealous! =) A story for the ages…. tell the story to your grandchildren, and anyone else you can. Minnie’s a true legend and a class act!
