Tonight’s Lineup

Pods, LF; Iguchi, 2B; Thome, DH; PK, 1B; Dye, RF; AJ, C; Crede, 3B; Uribe, 3B; Anderson, CF.  Charlie Haeger makes his big league debut.

I happened to be in the clubhouse talking to Greg Walker at about 1 pm when Charlie Haeger arrived with his equipment bag slung over his shoulder.

We both welcomed him to Chicago with a handshake.

Charlie is a great guy, and hopefully tonight’s start goes well.  A native of Plymouth, Mich., Charlie "retired" in 2003 and went home to coach golf at Livonia State (I believe was the school).  A very good golfer, he won our annual Pro-Am this February in Tucson.

Last Night’s Leftovers

The White Sox are 12-1 over their last 13 home games … the Sox have won eight straight over the Angels (including postseason) and are 7-2 against the AL West … Freddy Garcia extended his winning streak to five games, his longest since winning six in a row in 2005 … he did not walk a batter last night for his second straight outing … threw 52 pitches in the first three innings but just 54 in the final five … retired the final 16 batters he faced … is 5-0 with a 3.49 ERA in his last six starts … Sox starting pitchers have gone 15-2 with a 2.69 ERA and 18 quality starts in the last 22 games.

Looking forward to Charlie’s debut. Wishing him, and us, the best!! Let’s keep rolling!!

My streak on the line
Each and every time I’ve been to the Stadium, we have won and Jason Giambi has hit a homer.. Not one to put curses on things, I predict both streaks will stay alive tonight

I’d like to ask a cheeky question if I may; how IS Dustin Hermanson coming along now?

A few of us crazy Brits want to know!

Here’s hoping ‘Chuck Haeger’ has a good one tonight, and that the Sox can win the game (and the series) over the Angels.

Cheers, and Go Sox!

In my sheltered little world, I tend to forget that the fans of the WS Champs are all over the globe. Greetings to our fellow fans outside the US. Very good question Ed…with the recent talk of Jose’s DL, I was wondering the same thing. Looking forward to seeing “Hermy” back on the hill. Love his intensity!!

I read somewhere Dustin has started throwing some…would love to hear an “official” update though Scott. Dustin may not be around, but not forgotten. I’d sure feel better if he came back like he was early last year. I think our pen could use him. Looking forward to Charlie’s start. If nothing else, will be interesting to watch out catcher catch the knuckler. I have a feeling we will see Brandon for a few innings tonight as well. I’ve got a soft spot for that kid. He was amazing last year and think he will do good things for us in the future as well. We are becoming VERY spoiled by our pitchers!

I too am looking forward to Charlie’s start tonight but mostly I’m watching and pulling for Brian Anderson. The kid is going to have a great future and his glove is already at the major league level. His bat is not far behind I just hope he doesn’t press too much. I hope he knows there a a lot of Sox fans young and old like me pulling for him. Go Sox.

Six men in the lineup hitting .300 or better….A sellout crowd encouraging every thing you do,rooting you in to victory in your major league debut….I’m hoping that this remake of “Charlie’s Angels” is better than the last movie…although, with Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu in the same ************ it,there goes that short term memory again…..
to edruston in the u.k….’allo,guvnor…’ope you like whatever you see and ‘ere tonight from the South Side of WS Universe…..
