Random Notes

Good News!  Joe Cowley of the Sun-Times and I made up before the game today and he evened promised to consider taking part in Blog Night (I know I need to pick a date).

With a 3.88 ERA, the White Sox starters rank second in the AL to Oakland (3.24) … Javier Vazquez is tied with Dice-K for most strikeouts in June at 42 … Jim Thome moved into 22nd place all time with 1,413 walks …

Here it is, White Sox relievers…

Stab it as you may there are still a couple of bumps emanating from inside this rib cage, so go ahead and stick it with your knives of incompetence a couple more times – I’d suggest sometime in the last few innings would be best, especially if we’re holding a lead – and let’s see if we can’t pierce this broken heart one last time before it finally gives out.

Check the schedule and you’d see: we’d be in or very near first in the division if we had a bullpen who could hold leads in the final 3 innings. No amount of excuses or injuries or compliments to the other team can change that.

So please, White Sox organization, if you’re going to take another thrust at my beliefs in you, please do so quickly so that hope can die.

It has taken me a winner tonight and 24 hrs to get over the last nights awful loss. I was at the game last night and have to share how cool it was to see all the support for Buehrle. Chanting re-sign Buehrle, signs of support and the great standing “0”. The sound people were humorous with their choice of songs before the game…”stay with me”, and a bunch of others calling for staying. Scott I’m sure that was a little more than coincidence and then “their goes our hero” when he left the game. Nice job by the audio crew!! Don’t look now Sox fans but we have won 7/10 and have scored more than a run in the last week. Not saying we are going to win the division or anything, but except for last night, looking better! Who would’ve thought last year that Javy would be such a stud! What a difference a year makes, last year we boo Buehrle for a terrible second half and boo Javy cause he can’t get past the 5th and this year we are begging to keep Mark and watching Javy keep the opponents to a .180 batting average and an ERA under 2 the past 3 starts! Something to be happy about in all the madness this past week. Happy and safe 4th everyone!!
