The groan was audible last night with Gathright’s ball scooted into left field. You could feel how badly everyone wanted that record for Bobby.
Good to see Danny Richar, Jerry Owens and Josh Fields lead us to victory.

I was really nervous during that at-bat. I don’t recall getting that nervous at anytime during 2005.
If there is any consolation, it’s that the streak ended on a clean hit by a hot hitter.
If it had ended on a walk, hit-by-pitch or error it would have hurt a lot more.
