Saturday Rain Clouds

Saturday, April 25, 2009

The great thing about baseball is that there is always a game the next day (weather permitting).

Today’s Lineup

Getz 4, Lillibridge 8, Quentin 7, Dye dh, Konerko 3, Fields 5, Miller 2, Anderson 9, Alexei 6.  Buehrle pitching.

Roster Move

Prior to today’s game, pitcher Lance Broadway was recalled from Class AAA Charlotte.  After last night’s game, pitcher Jack Egbert was optioned to the Knights.

Yeah! We got some runs…… Now let’s get some more….. Go Sox…. j.k.

My power is back on – yeah! Ready to watch a good game!!!

Now THAT is what I’m talkin’ about! Nice to see that they’ve got their act back together. Way for Alexei to bring it all together with the grand slam!!
I don’t know what happened to them between yesterday and today, but something sure happened and it was just what they needed!

He’s back!

Swwweeeettt!!! I love him!

Gotta like the action from the youth movement, both offensively and defensively. Keep it up, guys! I’m lovin’ it!

Now, hold them or better yet, call the game because of the rain and let’s get ready for tomorrow…. Go Sox’09….j.k.

Don’t be shocked if that happens, JK. There’s a front approaching the city, and seems like it might have a little kick to it!

You can see drizzling….Go Sox’09….j.k.

Hi everyone! What a great game so far! What a difference a day makes….Alexei, we never stopped lovin’ you! That’s what we are talking about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In the words of Farmio, keep your foot on there necks and press even harder.

Also, nice work by Corky tonight so far. Did anyone hear Hawk call him Corkio? I could have swore he did. Funny

OK, I did hear it this time Corky Miller was up. Hawk’s nickname for him is Corkeroo, not Corkio. My bad.

Corkeroo is still pretty good. 3 more outs. Seal the deal.

That’s a Sox Winner!!!!!

OK, see you all tomorrow when we take the series!

Go Sox!

Not sure if anyone reads the MLB blog “The Baseball Collector”, but the writer – Zach – was at the Cell last night. Although I don’t agree with all of his comments about the Cell, it’s a fun read.

The Sunday line up on Saturday stays, they are 3-0! Was out to dinner and saw Alexei hit that slam. Nice! Hoping for the best tomorrow but Halladay?? A girl can dream!!

My niece and nephew and heading to their very first Sox game today. Can I request a win??

Also, can I get at least a little BA love out there? Everyone is so quick to bash him, but he has quietly lifted his average to .308 with a .413 OBP. Give the boy some love!! I’m loving this Sunday lineup on Saturday too. 3-0!!

Thanks for sharing that story from Zach, Maria. It was very thorough, but I don’t get how his sharpie-glove-string “trick” works. Oh, well. Good luck to him.

Jose will have to find his pitches today, because it doesn’t figure that we will score more than three or so runs on Halliday. Win today and we take the series and that’s the important thing. That would also keep us in a tie for first in the Central and give us 10 wins…. So, Go Sox…. j.k.

JK: In one of his earlier posts (, Zach explains his ball-snatching technique in great detail. The concept is similar to a tool you might use to retrieve a golf ball from water (when I say “you”, I really mean “me”). Anyway, it’s pretty innovative, given that he’s essentially jerry-rigged it with simple household items. And given that he’s collected nearly 4000 balls, I’d say it works well!
