Rained Out

Monday, April 27, 2009

Tonight’s game with the Seattle Mariners has been called because of rain.  It will be made up as part of a doubleheader at 4:05 p.m. tomorrow (Tuesday).  Tickets/parking for tonight can be exchanged for any future game … see whitesox.com for details.

thanks, scott!

Question/Recommendation/Need Scott:

So I am contemplating whether or not to go to the doubleheader tomorrow but I need to know whether or not in the club level some of the TV monitors will be showing the Bulls playoff game? This is probably the number one factor on whether or not I will be going to the game. I sent an e-mail to Boyer as well. Can you guys make this happen?

Thanks.

Scott’s prior post referred to BA as “Captain America”, but doesn’t he really look like the “Greatest American Hero”?

Gotta say, getting Scott’s updates thru Twitter was really beneficial tonight. We were at the game, and because of his tweet, knew the game was called before anything was ever announced over the PA. Very, very cool. I love being the first one out of the parking lot!

Looking for a double-W tomorrow! Go White Sox!!!

Here’s one for all you cubs haters out there ( I don’t hate the cubs; I don’t even consider them at all). I’m watching the D-Backs and the Aflac trivia question is when was the last time the cubs had winning records three years in a row?

While you mull that one over, this in my estimation is the most tasteless idea I’ve EVER heard of. The cubs are offering(?) a limited chance to join other fans in a wrigley look alike cemetary. This includes a special urn! I hope this isn’t a trend, but simply illustrates the inneptness of their marketing(?), promotion(?) department. If Darren Sutton and Mark Grace reported this on April 1st, I would have thought it was a joke. At least Sutton said who would want to spend eternity with Cubs fans?

If you guessed 1970, 71, 72 you are correct and need to explain why you knew the answer……. Go Sox’09……j.k.

Actually jk, the cemetary isn’t affiliated with the Cubs at all. But its still pathetic. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/baseball/mlb/04/24/cubs.cemetery.ap/index.html

Thanks Amy. I’m relieved that’s not a cub idea. And pathetic doesn’t do justice to how crass that “stratagem” is.

D-Backs win 7-2 behind a complete game from Dan Harin….. let’s try for two wins tomorrow, Go Sox….j.k.

After sleeping on it, I’m not relieved the cubs aren’t the originators of that appalling idea. Since they aren’t condemming it they must be tacitly approving and that makes them culpable for the whole thing. Shame on the Cubs. That’s enough on that subject… Go Sox…… j.k.
