Pods 7, Missile 6, JD 9, Thome dh, PK 3, AJ 2, Getz 4, Fields 5, Wise 8.  Richard pitching.

Konerko/Thome

Paul Konerko and Jim Thome were very pleased with the turnout at Lizzie McGuire’s last night for their reception to benefit Children Home + Aid and Foster Care.

DH Notes

The Sox and Tigers have played 10 DHs since 1991 (five in each city) and have another scheduled for 7/24 in Detroit… the Sox are 6-2-2 in DH with Detroit in that span.

Scott, I follow you on Twitter. I have a request of you. Would it be possible for you to Tweet when you update your blog that would also provide a link to the blog post? I believe http://www.twitterfeed.com should be able to automate this process for you.

Thanks!

Randy

Go Sox’09….j.k.

Those bases on balls will kill you!!!!

I don’t know what’s worse, Richard walking three guys in a row to give Detroit a run, Ramirez pathetic attempts at a sacrifice bunt, or Thome striking out yet again with a runner in scoring position. This has been a clinic on how not to play the game.

I was just saying that there’s no reason the Sox shouldn’t win this game. Well, now they have even less of a reason.

I stand corrected. The clinic just got better. What’s worse is watching this bum Fields that we have at third boot a routine ground ball from a guy who can’t run and it will turn into the winning run. Don’t know why this clown is still with the SOX but add him to the list of BA, DW & BC who need to go!

Here, Take it. Do you want it? O.K. then you got it. This was a give away game. Given very nicely too I might add…..I hope all the Tiger fans are appreciative…..j.k.

The ways we are finding to lose these games is getting quite embarrassing.

That being said, for all the people playing GM out there and suggesting names of players the White Sox should get rid of, you need to name the people you think should take their spots. You can’t just dump people without replacing them.

Another pathetic effort, another SOX loss. Konerko, Dye Pods, and Carrasco are the only guys who came to play today. Everybody else? Far as I can tell they all took the day off, at least mentally. Don’t know if this team has played worse this year but if this keeps up (and there is no reason to think it won’t – 6th loss in 8 games on this homestand) Kenney can start the firesale by midweek. Another loss snatched from the jaws of victory by way of overall terrible team play.

OK Scam, you asked for it, here it is and we don’t even have to go out of our own farm system.
Start Gordan Beckam at short for the rest of the year. Move Ramirez back to second for the rest of the year. Jayson Nix – gone.
Bring up Jordan Danks and put him in center and give him the job for the rest of the year. BA & DW – gone.
Bring up Tyler Flowers to back up AJ.
Bring up Dayan Viciedo @ 3b. Yeah I know he’s only 20 and never played in the states before this year. So what?
He can be as good as Miguel Cabrerra as a hitter. JD & PK could be great role models for this kid. Josh Fields – gone.
Give DJ Carraso the 5th starter’s job. Colon to pen as long relief. If Contreras has his stuff worked out, great. If not make him long relef out of pen and trade for a fifth starter for BA, DW, JN, JF and this new palooka at catcher that we just signed who can’t hit his way out of paper bag. Before you say that none of these moves make sense because of these guys ages, etc. I ask. What do we have to lose?

Buster, I’m not going to make any comments relative to yours on the personnel. I know that this loss is even more frustrating than any of the others. I do agree that Fields is not a big league third baseman and never was. Not even in ’07 when he hit 23 home runs and seemed to strike out in every other at bat.

TC, you’re absolutly right. Fields leads this team with 56, that’s right 56 Ks. Thome is second with 49 Ks. Fields has three, that’s right 3, home runs. If he was leading the team in HR then maybe (although I doubt it) his proficiency at striking out could be forgiven. I shudder when I think that we let Crede go (maybe the best all around third baseman to ever wear a SOX uniform – OK Melton and Ventura are in the mix) to give this clown the job. The worst part is Fields defense is even worse than his hitting.
