Jared Mitchell

The White Sox selected Jared Mitchell, an outfielder from LSU, with the 23rd pick of the first round in tonight’s MLB First-Year Player Draft. Mitchell, who the Sox had targeted, projects as a center fielder in the big leagues, and MLB Network analysis identified Mitchell as having the highest projection for a position player in the first round of this draft.

Sorry, I was late posting tonight — my daughter’s eighth-grade graduation got in the way — so I’ll skip the lineup. You likely already know that LHP Aaron Poreda was promoted from Class AA Birmingham in time for tonight’s game and Bartolo Colon was placed on the disabled list.

Go Sox. Beat Willis and the Tigers tonight… Go Mark….. j.k.

Gordon Beckham is off the schneid…. Bloop single to right, but it will look like a line drive in the box score…….Hold ’em Mark and Go Sox’09…..j.k.

Polish night at the Cell? Leading off, Scott Podsky, followed by Alexei Ramisky, then Jermain Dysky and Jim Thomski. Middle of the order is Paul Konerkue, A.J. Persynski then Gordon Beksky. Bottom of order: Jason Nixsy and Brian Anderski…. Go Soxky’09….j.k.

My apologies for misspelling AJ’s name. I was overwhelmed by all the ski’s….. Go Sox….j.k.

Runs Boy, runs……

Way to go, Brian, getting those runs right back!! Now, let’s get more – lots more!

That’s pretty funny, j.k. I love it! A.J.’s name is the only one that’s Polish 365 days a year, but those other ones aren’t half-bad!

Gotta stop wasting those opportunities – PLEASE!!

Real nice play by Willis. 3-3 going into the sixth….. Hold ’em Mark…..

Come on Oh-Do-Tell. We need you BIG time……

They can get down the bunt. They can hit in the clutch. We can’t. This is the story of our season so far……..j.k.

We have GOT to win this one – I will be so frustrated and unhappy if we don’t!!!

That loss did not need to happen, and speaks volumes about our team.

You can’t have a team issue 10 bases on balls to you and then worry about an umpire’s call costing you the game.

Konerko, Pods and JD are playing well. Others have been way too inconsistent.

This was one of those rare occasions where our bullpen failed us.

All we can do is come back tomorrow night and try to even the series.

Kudos to the Boys for coming back (twice) last night. It looked like DeWayne was safe to me too. Keep playing hard and we still might be OK this year. Can we beat Verlander today? We should/ could be 3-0 instead of 1-2 so far this series….Go Sox….j.k.
