Bauman is always a good read.

Hey Chickadees, watching hopefully the whole game today. Gotta make up for yesterday!! C’mon boys! Comeback mode already…

Ames,

Nice job getting us the early lead. JK will be proud of you!!!!

But Ames, the blog has you behind the rest of the world by 15 minutes. Or is that ahead? Guess it depends on your “vantage” point, just like the umps, huh???

Mm, just me today? Somethin brewin this inning? AJ’s gotta make him pay, he just got hit where it hurts the most.. >.< Yeowza, good thing he’s got a kid already!

There we go, thanks AJ! Nix in, 1-1 tie. Sweaty Freddy was in the dugout looking like a pharaoh with the towel over his head. Pretty awesome!

Big inning yahoo!!! Thank you, Mark Kotsay! Beckett is off today, lets capitalize while we can!! 3-1, good guys!

Ehhhhh, idk if I would have had him try to score from 1st… could have still had men on 1st and 3rd, 2 outs with Getz up. It was verrrry close though. Buehrls, lets 1-2-3, and get the boys back at the dish fast!

Replay shows he was SAFE! Really bang-bang though, ump didn’t have the vantage point we did. Grrrarr

6-4-3 DP. Close enough, Hurly Buehrle. Start where you left off, boys, don’t hold back!

jk, how am I doing with the play-by-play? Someone has to hold down the fort, I’m taking the spot start today!

Well, tc, idk. Greetings from the future!!! I have you coming in 10 mins behind…

Holy crap, I really am 15 mins ahead!

I think the guy doing Gae Day today is drunk. Or at least a Cub fan. Nothing makes sense. He just had Alexei making an out on the fourth pitch and then fouling off the next two pitches!!!

I guess I’ll have to turn on the radio. But I never get much work done while listening to the radio. Oh well, as jk would say, Go Sox!!!

haha! welcome tc, to 15 mins ahead. And I need to mention that Dustin Pedroia, aside from him being a Red Saux enimy, is pretty awesome for being like 5’7″. Perhaps my AL David Eckstein? Yeee-ssss!

Ack! Let me post, Senor Blog!! I only want to root for the boys!

Oh fine, now it works… “cinch it up and hunker down, Buerhle!” says Hawk. I wholeheartedly agree!

And now I’m on time! Gotta keep up with me, tc!

Welcome home, Josh. How’s good ol’ VA this afternoon?

Ames, everyone wants to be in your “time zone”!!!!

Hi Ames and TC. Sorry I’m more than a little late, but it’s good to see that the good guys have the lead. Keep it up. Go White Sox!

We are in the blog “twilight zone”. Sometimes on time, sometimes 15 minutes ahead. I keep looking for Rod Serling . . . . . . . Of course, now Ames is gonna ask “Who the hell is Rod Serling????”

When will Rios contribute? Still waiting to see how those $Ms will pay off……..

Nice weather here in VA, Ames. I almost want to skip out on the game and head off somewhere…….almost. :)

I figure I need to be around for when the Palehose win the series today.

Who the hell is Rod Sterling?

Though I’m gunna use context clues and guess the guy who says “This is… The Twilight Zone!” at the beginning of the show? Yes?

1-2-3 inning! Now let’s extend that lead. Go White Sox!

How right you are Ames!!!!

And Ames, ya gotta give Rios some time. Three weeks, almost four now, is not enough to judge a guy on.

Methinks I detect a bit of sarcasm in TC’s voice maybe?

No sarcasm, Ames. I still like the acquisition of Rios and will give him time. Of course, that decision was made a long time ago by Kenny because we are now locked into the deal long-term.

But you boy Scotty just keeps on hitting . . . . . . .

I kind of agree with you TC and then again, I don’t. We did get Rios for the long-term so if he starts producing for us next season and beyond, I won’t have a problem with all the money we’re giving him.

But, when we got him and Peavy, I thought Kenny was making a run for winning this year as well. Granted, we’re not in a good position to do so now, but Rios hasn’t contributed much at the plate since he came over. I do want to start seeing some production from him sooner rather than later.

Pena BETTER not screw this up, Buehrle is deserving and more than due for this win!

“Right size, wrong shape”

Thank goodness too or another of Buehrle’s great efforts would have been wasted.

Looks like we got the good Pena today.

Oh I’m not saying that I didn’t want some production sooner from Rios. I wish he were hitting more, too. But I’m not giving up on him yet. Patience is a virtue in baseball. The real fans have it. The idiots who post on the game stories on this site and on the Tribune’s game stories, for the most part, do not.

Josh, you, me, Ames, jk, MariA, MariE, nmbrott, Donna, even Kenwo (lol) have the patience and know what we need to be a winner.

2 to go.

Attaboy Tony!!!! He’s another guy I am willing to be patient with. He’s had some tough outings but giving up game-winning hits to a future Hall-of-Famer (KG Jr.) and Big Papi will and can happen to any reliever. I like Pena’s arm and trust him much more than Dotel or Linebrink at this point in time.

The blog wouldn’t let me post the last couple minutes.

I agree TC that some people think that the White Sox should win everyday, but that’s just impossible. I do hope Rios contributes for us next season and beyond.

And you can put it on the board, YESSSSSSS! Atta boy Q!

1 to go.

And this ballgame is OVAH! Way to take 3 of 4 from the Carmines. Now lets take two from Oakland. Go White Sox!

C’mon Quentin. Get another run in.

Caaaaalos!!!!!!!!!!!!

Or maybe two runs in!!!! attaboy CQ!!!

Love it when we’re ahead and there is no save situation!!!!!!!

YESSSSSSSSSSSS! Nice to return the favor to the Saux, hope they enjoyed it here as much as we did Bahsten.

Nice work on the “sport start” Ames!!! You and Burls get credit for the win. As I said before, jk would be proud of you girl!!!!

6-2 at home this year vs. NY and Boston. I guess the Cell was friendly when those big boys came to town.

All we can do is keep taking it day-to-day and hope that the Tigers collapse. But I would be shocked to see Humperdinck’s boy fall apart. They have some vets and a favorable schedule.

What a day at the Cell! Watching the Mark and Mark tag team on the Carmines was a deep fried delight. And then the slam-dunk from TCQ was the hot fudge sauce on the yummy Labor Day treat! (did I mix enough metaphors there?)

Great new video montage of our rookie threesome on the big screen. Hope our newest Carlos gets another W tomorrow.

Keep it going boys! Now that the red ones have left town we can go back to saying, “Let’s Go Sox!”

I just now got home and read the comments and will agree with tc on this one: Amy, you were magnificent! Good job bringing us home a much needed and deserved win. This is the type baseball we all knew our Boys were capable of. I hope it isn’t a case of too little, too late.

Just keep taking it one game at a time and hope Detroit gets lazy for a game or two and we can creep up on them just a bit. It’s still a very long shot, but as long as we’re still in it we all gotta keep believing!

Pitch well, field well, hit well, equals winning baseball. Go Sox……………………..’09…j.k.

nmbrott,

I don’t care if the red ones are in town or not, the only real Sox are the White Sox. The Carmines are nothing but imposters. When someone says “The Sox,” there can be only one team to which they are referring — the White Sox!

And, on a totally unrelated note but I just happened to think of it, if I hear the phrase “Red Sox Nation” one more time, I will upchuck every meal I have had in the last week! This latest trend of referring to teams’ fans as such — i.e., Red Sox Nation, Raider Nation, Packer Nation, etc., etc., — is the lamest thing I have ever heard.

Thanks ESPN, for giving us something else that is irritating. As if your screaming maniacs on SportsCenter aren’t bad enough!!!!

Rant over. Sorry, nmbrott, for ranting after your post. Nothing you said but I just looked at the standings and my frustrations with a 69-70 record boiled over.
