Day After

Tuesday, April 6, 2010

This honor seems fitting after Mark Buehrle’s amazing play yesterday.

A couple of White Sox players are planning to take in the Chicago Bulls game tonight at the United Center.

A big hello to all! I would have posted when the game was going on, but new parental duties come first. (I think I’m starting to get the hang of it.)

What a great way to start the season! I’m glad that I was off work yesterday, one, to spend time with the little one, but two, to watch White Sox Opening Day on ESPN2. The only thing I can say is that the legend of Mark Buehrle continues to grow. The contest is over folks, that’s the web gem of the year right there! It was just a great effort all around, and it was great to see the hustle on defense and on baserunning. Doing these little things will win us many games in the future. I know it’s only one game, but let’s keep the momentum up. Go White Sox!

Day after… and still in awe. Watching the play unfold, seeing the velocity of the ball AFTER it careened off Mark’s leg, thinking that it was gallant of him to even THINK about going for it, imagining Hawk blurt his normal “Put it in your pocket”, cringing as it was clear Mark WAS going for (yes, I was thinking error for sure), and sitting there in utter amazement as he blindly flipped it through his legs to PK for the out, I am still smiling just thinking about it all.

Best of all was the day’s outcome. I’m looking forward to many more spectacular days at the Cell in ’10. :o)

What a play! Best of the year on Opening Day? Amazing!
Go White Sox!

“The South Side Story”

I was fortunate enough to go to the Opener and I’m still pumped up over what a great day it was and witnessing Buehrle’s great play in person.

I was reminded of the great catch Ray Durham made on Opening Night of the 2000 season.

You never know what you’re going to see at a ballgame, but every now and then you see a play that will stay with you for a lifetime.

Great job on the Home Opener White Sox! I had an awesome time at the game.,CST-SPT-sox07.article

Great article about Jake Peavy!! OK, who is NOT excited to see him pitch tonight???

“Sweet” Marie, I can think of one group that isn’t that excited…

The Cleveland Indians, that’s who…

Weather permitting, of course…

Anyone going out to the Cell tonight… Bundle up, and have lots of money for coffee and hot chocolate concessions…

Eight hits in the first two games combined is something to note, simply not a very good night.

Thornton and Putz can’t pitch every day…someone else is going to have to get the job done too.

Don’t understand what Jenks was doing in a game in a non save situation, obviously Ozzie was trying to get him some work.

It would be very disappointing to lose the first series of the year and at home to a bad, bad club. They need to pick it up on Thursday.
