Another bad outing by Buerhle, our “3-6 ace”. Another loss. It will be interesting to see how long JR and KW allow this futility to continue.

Allow this futility to continue?????? You think they have a way to stop it? If they did, it would have been done a long time ago.

It’s easy to rip on teams that are struggling. If you’ve got some answers, feel free to send them to Kenny and Mr. Reinsdorf. I’m sure they are scratching their head jsut as much as anyone else on how to find some offense and some consistency in the starting pitching.

” If they did, it would have been done a long time ago.” You mean like during the off seaon ?

Find some offense? KW & Oz put this team together after letting our best ballplayer last year (Pods) go because he wanted a two year deal and doing NOTHING to replace the HR & RBIs from JD & Thome. This team is awful, and has been since day 1 of spring training !
Omar Vizquel, Mark Teahen, Mark Kotsay, Jayson Nix. Not a decent ballplayer amongst the four (although Vizquel has had a great career). Juan Pierre ? Good National League player, not so much in the AL. HUGE liability in left field – no arm. Steals a lot of bases when he gets on but no more than Pods.
” some consistency in the starting pitching.” When Freddy Garcia (who is having a good year as a 5Th starter) is your ace, you’re in trouble! The ONLY other starter who has been worth a damn this year is JD and he gets no run support. When you’re paying a guy like Peavy $10M and he has an ERA over 6, I and everbody else who supports this team financially (and I guessing TC doesn’t) has EVERY right to complain.

You can’t blame Ozzie for the players on this team. Read the papers – listen to sports radio – there is only ONE player on this team that is Ozzie’s and that is Mark Kotsay. Everyone else is Kenny’s doing.

As for Pierre being a HUGE liability in left, have you not been watching? In recent games, he’s been awesome. I can think of at least 5 awesome plays by Pierre that totally saved runs. His arm hasn’t costed us anything. And, he’s been solid at the plate as of late.

Marie

Please, only one player on this team that’s Ozzie’s doing? You’re telling me that it was KW’s idea to let Pods go and hire JP ? Think again. Same with Vizquel, Nix & Kotsay. What team have you been watching? JP has let teams score runs and take extra bases ALL YEAR due his his arm (or more correctly lack of same). I’ve watched him be unable to throw a guy out at the plate when the ball was caught just beyond deep short! TWICE!
If you don’t think this team is a total collaboration between KW & Oz you must not listen to or watch Ozzie’s interviews.
