Jose Valentin hit a solo home run and tapped his heart in celebration as he rounded the bases, a similar move of another Chicago slugger playing for the Cubs at the time. Mark Buehrle won for the sixth time in seven decisions as he scattered nine hits over eight innings, walking none and limiting the Cubs to two runs.
