Moment No. 5

May 21, 2005 – Patterson Comes Up Short – White Sox 5, Cubs 3
Corey Patterson came up short on a diving attempt at Paul Konerko’s sinking line drive in the eighth inning, opening up a decisive four-run frame for the White Sox in a 5-3 victory.  With two on and two outs, Konerko hit a line drive to center that bounced off Patterson’s glove and fell for a two-run single.  Two batters later, Carl Everett doubled home two additional runs.  Cubs starter Carlos Zambrano yielded just one hit in 7.0 IP before turning the ball over the Cubs bullpen in the game-changing frame.   Jose Contreras was just as dominant for the Sox, allowing one run on four hits in 7.0 IP  for his second win.

My top moment at Wrigley is any time you get to leave that H E double hockey sticks…hole.

OK, not that I ever go there….but if I did.

Hey Marie,
I couldn’t agree more. Been to the “World’s Biggest Gay Bar” once in my life and that was for a SOX/flubs game (SOX won). WHAT A DUMP!!!!
1. Traffic is AWFUL (way worse than trying to get to the Cell in rush hour).
2. Food was terrible.
3. AWFUL sight lines
4. Oh yeah, all the drunken flubs fans – PRICELESS.
You couldn’t pay me to EVER go back to that dump, and that includes free tix to the SOX/cubs WS.
Wait, the flubs in the WS? That’s a hoot – LOL.
