Dunn The Optimist

Adam Dunn told reporters today that he doesn’t want to miss the team’s home opener Thursday at US Cellular Field.

“One thing I definitely don’t want to do is miss Opening Day at home. I’m going home tonight and planning on playing tomorrow and we’ll go from there. If it’s really sore and if I’m feeling like this tomorrow, we might have some problems. I’m anticipating it getting better. I’m a quick healer, like Wolverine. I asked the doctor yesterday how long these things take and he gave me a general answer for the public. I’m subtracting 15 days off it. If I can tolerate [the pain], then I want to play. I don’t mind playing when I’m not 100 percent.”

If Dunn comes back quickly, will we start seeing signs in the crowd with Dunn wearing yellow spandex and claws? The Big Donkey becomes Weapon X?

This aside, it was a great, hard-fought win yesterday. And the odd thing was, even when we were down by 3 with two outs in the ninth, I had a feeling something was going to happen. It’s a shame we couldn’t close it out in the 9th, but we still came out on top and that’s what matters. I don’t think KC will be a pushover this year (but were they really with an 8-10 record aganst us last year), and if they keep this up, they could be a surprise team in the AL Central. Now, lets start off the homestand with a W. Go White Sox!
