Clubhouse

Every television in the White Sox clubhouse was tuned to the Chicago Bulls game at noon Saturday.  Then I walked into our PR offices and Pat O’Connell had Notre Dame’s Blue-Gold game on his television.

Warming Up?

Despite the frigid temps and wet weather so far, it appears Sox shortstop Alexei Ramirez is adjusting to playing baseball in the winter.

After hitting .121-0-2 during April of his rookie year, .214-1-9 in 2009 and .221-1-8 in 2010, the Silver Slugger is batting .292 with three home runs and eight RBI in 12 games so far this April.

Peavy Update

Right-hander Jake Peavy threw a bullpen session today in preparation for his next rehab start with Class AA Birmingham on Monday (plans are for another next Saturday with Class AAA Charlotte).  “Nice and easy today,” Peavy said afterward.  “Nothing crazy.”

Notes

The White Sox have led at some point in all 12 games this season.

Paul Konerko needs one home run to tie Ralph Kiner for 69th place all-time with 369, and Adam Dunn needs two to tie Yogi Berra for 74th all-time with 358.

White Sox starters are 3-1 with a 2.01 ERA on the homestand and have allowed just seven earned runs in 39.2 IP over the last six games.

The White Sox have begun a stretch where they play 20 consecutive days from 4/15-5/4 (0-2 thus far).  Then, after an offday on 5/5, the Sox play 26 games in 27 days from 5/6-6/1.

By a wonderful “quirk of fate” the Angels / Sox game is on here in Tucson. Onward and upward Boys… Go Gavin and Go Sox’11…..j.k.

Maybe the game will start now, but I won’t be able to watch it. I’ll be listening though, so Go Gavin and go Sox’11….j.k.

That’s enough listening for me. After two two out walks Gavin grooved one for a Home Run and a 6-1 Angels lead. We need ONE win to have a 5-5 home stand. Oh the vagaries of baseball and what might have been…… Go Sox’11………

This team will play better than they have been. Let’s just hope it’s not too late.

Looks like we need to beat Dan Haren for a split of this 10 game home stand. Come on Mark, and come on Boys, we need a win. Tampa is starting to play better too, so this next trip will be a tough one as well. Let’s head to St. Pete a game over 500….Go Sox’11…..j.k.

You’re the one with the brains here. I’m wcatinhg for your posts.

Half way home and it 0-3 Angels. Come on Boys!!!

The plot thickens. 4-2 now in the seventh as we knock Haren out and await a reliever coming in with two on and one out and two in. Go Sox’11…..j.k.

Hold ‘em Boys, we’ve got two more chances to score three runs……

We made it interesting in the ninth, but after all is said and done, we lose 4-2 and get swept by the Angels. Big road trip coming up and we’ll need to play our best to come back home with a winning record. Shake it off and go Sox’11….j.k.

Season is 15 games old and already the SOX have lost two series, one by sweep. Not good. 4-6 on the first homestand of the year. REALLY NOT GOOD. Starting pitching now is beginning to resemble the crappy bullpen and crappy defense.
On the upside there is still 147 games to play.

Deja-vu all over again

I’m not happy either with how this homestand played out. But, I’m with Bench and I know this team will turn it around, they always play like crud in April. And, who here really thinks KC and Cleveland will be on top at the end of the season? Let’s hit the road, get our stuff together and shake this off. 147 games left is sure a lot left to play.

This is painful to watch

You got it Bench. I switched over to Wheel of Fortune it was that bad.

This isn’t working. We haven’t won since last Tuesday. Maybe we will tomorrow on the anniversary of that historic date? Only time will tell and I’ll see you all here rooting for our Boys @ 3:40 PM Tucson time. I love East coast swings….. It would be nicer though with an occasional DOUBLE YOU!!!(W)……. Come On Sox’11……j.k.

hey, jk, more bad news since you probably haven’t heard out in Tucson yet, but Peavy was supposed to pitch something like 75 pitches today in B-ham and he left the game after only 15 pitches with “discomfort”. Ugh, just what we need. This is snowball is rolling down hill.

Yeah, Marie, I just read the article. So far ALL the wheels have fallen off our team bus, but you never know. How about starting a six game win streak tonight? That would cure what ails us….. Have a great day all, and I’ll see you later for first pitch….Go Sox’11….j.k.
