Ozzie
Postgame today, Ozzie said he was very proud of his team and how his pitchers responded to the “short” bullpen from last night’s 14-inning loss, a situation that grew more dire when starter John Danks left after 1.2 IP due to a strained right oblique. Guillen said three starting pitchers volunteered.
One was Jake Peavy, who struck out seven and played a key role in the two-hit shutout.
“Peavy came to my office before the game,” Guillen said, “And said, ‘I’m ready if you need me.’”
“I told him, ‘If we need you today, we are in trouble,” Guillen recounted.
Sometimes you have to be careful of what you say, you just might get it. And Peavy responded it a big, big way.
The White Sox are 3.5 games back.

Just finished listening to the archived game from earlier today. Nice win after that downer from last night. Peavy got the win working out of the pen. Very gutsy performance. And we got the elusive sac fly in the first inning. And that was all we needed, although it was good to see Ramon continue to contribute with two RBI in the eighth. Now for the series win tomorrow with Phil. Go Sox’11….j.k.
