Quote of the Day
Robin on the value of Hector Santiago, whose ERA remains at 0.00 after pitching 1.2 innings in last night’s 4-3 victory:
“He’s kind of like a Swiss Army knife. He’s a little bit of everything–he’s closed, he’s been in-between, been a lefty guy, been a long guy, been a starter. There’s a lot of different ways you can use him. The biggest thing is that he’s effective and he gets the job done. How we use him from this point forward, he’s probably forcing your hand to use him a little more. He’s got good stuff, he throws strikes and he gets a lot of swings and misses for a guy who throws a fastball… Personality-wise, the way he views himself, he can do a lot of different things. He has a lot of energy when he comes in the game, which is great…”
Play of the Day
Dayan Viciedo’s line drive double to left-center in the top of the ninth inning that gave the Sox a 3-2 lead.
