Quote of the Day

Robin’s comments on the recent Sox losses:

“It’s baseball. You have to create your own breaks and attitude-wise and everything else. If you want to go down the road of feeling sorry for yourself and thinking bad things are going to happen, it’s probably going to happen. I’m not going there. You have to pick yourself up, stay positive and get after it.”

Play of the Day

Outfielder Trayce Thompson, one of the Sox’s brightest prospects now playing at Class AA Birmingham, gave his Dad quite a Father’s Day gift yesterday by belting two home runs and driving in five runs in the Barons’ 9-8 win over Jackson. Trayce’s father, by the way, is former NBA star Mychal Thompson, who was listening to the game. The younger Thompson has been red-hot recently and as a result was named the Southern League Hitter of the Week (June 10-16), batting .435 with three homers, nine RBI and five runs scored.
