Tim Anderson to Kannapolis

Originally set to begin his pro career at Advanced Rookie Bristol, the Sox’s No 1 pick in this month’s First-Year Player Draft, Tim Anderson, has instead reported to Class A Kannapolis.

After our Sox brass watched the promising shortstop work out with the other draftees, the decision was made that he was ready to play at a more advanced level.

Quote of the Day

GM Rick Hahn on the state of the Sox:

“We are and continue to be in a bit of a disappointing stretch right now. I know there’s frustration in the clubhouse, obviously frustration amongst fans, amongst staff, but we do have a fair amount of time left to get this thing right. We’ve been saying that for a while now and it is obviously time to get going if we’re going to make that run. But despite the frustration and disappointment thus far, I don’t think there’s a reason to believe this is going to continue. I know guys are doing everything in their power in terms of preparation, in terms of trying to make adjustments to stem the tide of defeats we’ve had recently…”

Play of the Day

Paulie’s 4-4 performance (three singles, a double, an RBI and a run scored) in last night’s 7-5 loss to the Twins.
