Quote of the Day
Phegley on Sale’s desire to finish last night’s game:
“I don’t think anybody was going to be able to take him out (in the ninth),” Phegley said. “If they’d have brought a reliever in, we’d have had two guys standing on the mound for sure.”
White Sox vs. Tigers at U.S. Cellular Field (1:10 p.m., CT, CSN). Starters: LHP John Danks (2-10, 4.52) for the Sox, RHP Rick Porcello (8-6, 4.32) for Detroit.
Did You Know…
…that today is National Left-Handers Day? Here’s hoping it’s a good omen for Hector in his matchup tonight with righty Scherzer.
