This Afternoon’s Game

White Sox vs. Tigers at U.S. Cellular Field (1:10 p.m., CT, CSN) in the finale of the three-game series as the Sox go for the sweep. Starters: LHP John Danks (2-10, 4.52) for the Sox, RHP Rick Porcello (8-6, 4.32) for Detroit.

Sox Starting Lineup: De Aza, LF; Beckham, 2B; Ramirez, SS; Dunn, DH; Garcia, RF; Keppinger, 1B; Gillaspie, 3B; Flowers, C; Jor. Danks, CF.

Play(s) of the Day

Avi Garcia, displaying his exceptional speed, tripled in a pair of runs against his ex-mates in the fourth inning last evening and came around to score on an error to give the Sox a 3-1 advantage. Garcia, who reached base three times (adding a single and a walk), also scored the winning run on Alejandro De Aza’s walkoff single in the bottom of the 11th which gave us the 4-3 win. It was De Aza’s second game-winning hit of the homestand.
