Quote of the Day

Robin on Addison Reed, who recorded saves 29, 30 and 31 last weekend as the Sox took three straight from the Twins after dropping the opener on Friday night:

“Everybody has a couple of hiccups here and there, but he has been able to bounce back. And that’s one of his biggest things, his ability to put it behind him and just look for today.”

Play of the Day

Alexei Ramirez has been on a roll lately and had quite a day on Sunday in the Sox’s 5-2 victory–he was a triple shy of a cycle and drove in three runs. Alexei also is among the American League leaders in hits, doubles (a career high 32) and stolen bases and has more hits (84) than any other A.L. player since June 10. Now batting .289 on the season, Ramirez is hitting .319 with three homers and 11 RBI since moving into the No. 3 hole in the lineup.

…and, of course, you know that Adam Dunn has made a remarkable turnaround recently? Dan Hayes of csnchicago.com examines the slugger’s resurgence:

Sox Note of Note

Tyler Danish, the Sox’s No. 2 selection in this year’s June draft, has been promoted to Class A Kannapolis from Advanced Rookie Bristol. Danish, only 18, went 1-0 with a 1.38 ERA and a .165 average against in 13 games for Bristol. He threw 10 consecutive scoreless innings over his final five games. All this success is nothing new to Danish as he recorded a 0.00 ERA as senior at Durant High School in Brandon, FL.
