He’s batting .364 with a pair of doubles, a triple, five RBI and seven runs scored during the streak…Adam Dunn tied the game at 2-2 in the sixth inning with his 29th homer of the season. It was also his 435th career blast, breaking a tie with Juan Gonzalez and Andrew Jones for sole posession of 41st place all-time…Hector Santiago went a strong 6.1 innings while the bullpen–Matt Lindstrom (0.2), Donnie Veal (1.0) and Nate Jones (1.0)–closed it out. Quote of the Day
Phegley on his first career walkoff hit and accompanying celebration on the field (courtesy of Philip Hersh in today’s Trib):
“It’s awesome. It’s the best beating of your life. I know Beckham was in there giving me some good shots to the mid-section. As soon as you get that hit, you can’t feel anything for the next 10 minutes.”
White Sox vs. Astros at U.S. Cellular Field (7:10 p.m., CT, WCIU) in the opener of a three-game series. Starters: RHP Andre Rienzo (1.0, 3.56) vs. LHP Brett Oberholtzer (3-1, 2.91) for Houston.
