Tonight’s Game

White Sox vs. Astros at U.S. Cellular Field (7:10 p.m., CT, CSN) in the rubber match of the three-game series and finale of the six-game homestand. A win tonight would give the Sox their fifth straight series win (Tigers, Twins, Royals and Rangers). Starters: LHP Chris Sale (9-12, 3.08) for the Sox, RHP Jarred Cosart (1-1, 1.60) for Houston. Chris has a 0.00 ERA in two career starts (16 innings pitched) against the Astros.

Play(s) of the Day

Jordan Danks played the role of the hero in last night’s come-from-behind 4-3 victory over the Astros. In addition to his eighth-inning, two-out single which scored a pair of runs that put the Sox ahead for good, he had two doubles to give him three hits in a game for the first time. In his career-high nine-game hitting streak, Jordan is batting .438 with four doubles, a homer, four RBI, four runs scored and two stolen bases…PK and Avi Garcia, who both singled during the eighth-inning comeback, had two hits and an RBI apiece while Alexei Ramirez, who also singled in the eighth, added a double in the sixth…Jose Quintana had another solid outing despite getting a no-decision, allowing three runs and eight hits along with eight strikeouts in 7.2 innings. Donnie Veal got credit for the win and Addison Reed chalked up his 36th save…For the record, the Sox bullpen has recorded an impressive 1.96 ERA over the last 16 games.

Leury Garcia, who last night made his first start (at second base) for the Sox and is in the lineup tonight at shortstop, defined his talents for reporters through an interpreter.

Tomorrow’s Schedule

Off-day. On Friday, White Sox vs. Red Sox at Fenway Park, Boston (6:10 p.m., CT, WCIU) in the opener of a three-game series and the beginning of a 10-game road trip that includes the Yankees (three) and Orioles (four). Starters: LHP Hector Santiago (4-7, 3.25) for the White Sox, RHP Ryan Dempster (6-9, 4.77) for the Red Sox.
