Play of the Day
Paulie hit his 10th home run of the season and 432nd of his career in yesterday’s loss to the Yankees. The solo homer moved him past Cal Ripken Jr. into 44th place on the all-time list.
Quote of the Day
PK on passing Ripken Jr. (via Dan Hayes, csnchicago.com):
“As a kid growing up the beginning of my career was the end of his career. He’s the model of how you want to do it out there. So that’s kind of cool. He played a long time. Being a shortstop puts in perspective his offensive capabilities, and also playing short is a little different than me. But any time you get mentioned with guys like that it’s a cool thing.”
