Sox Notes of Note
With his base hit last night Ramirez is just one shy of Frank Thomas‘ Sox record of 15 consecutive games with a hit to start the season…Adam Dunn hit his 443rd homer, passing Dave Kingman for 38th place on the all-time list, and his walk in the sixth inning put him past Rusty Staub for 49th all-time. Dunn reached base in all four plate appearances last night with the homer and three walks…he has reached base safely in all of his 11 games played…RHP Chris Beck pitched a complete-game (seven innings) three-hit shutout for the Class AA Birmingham Barons last night in the opener of a doubleheader on the road against the Mobile BayBears. The Barons won that first game 2-0 and the second game 5-2 to sweep the twin bill and extend their winning streak to five games.
