Reaching the .500 mark at 25-25, the White Sox recorded their 15th comeback win of the season last night, the third of the walk-off variety, and won for the third time when trailing after eight innings…the victory, the second over New York in as many days, was the Sox’ eighth straight triumph at home over the Bronx Bombers…we are 14-8 this year vs. teams at or above .500 and lead MLB this season with three game-ending home runs.

See You in the Ninth

The Sox lead the major leagues with 40 runs scored in the ninth inning–the Indians are a distant second with 25…we rank among the majors’ ninth-inning leaders in home runs (T1st, 6), hits (2nd, 47), slugging percentage (2nd, .479), on-base percentage (2nd, .374 and average (2nd, .288).

Abreu 5.23

Jose

Jose Abreu met with the media before last night’s game. He will be in a walking boot for a couple more days and is hoping to begin baseball activities on Monday.

Quote of the Day

Here’s part of what Abreu told the media, through an interpreter:

“We have a saying in Spanish, it’s hard to see the bulls from far away. You want to be down there with them. It’s very difficult but we’re dealing with it the best we can. We’re just trying to do everything we can to get back to the field as soon as possible…I wish my team could win every time I’m not there. It is a difficult time.”

Tomorrow’s Schedule

White Sox vs. Yankees at U.S. Cellular Field (1:10, CT, CSN) in the finale of the four-game series. Starters: RHP Andre Rienzo (4-0, 4.00) for the Sox, RHP Masahiro Tanaka (6-1, 2.39) for New York.
