A Good Night For The Good Guys With Rubber Match Tonight
Wednesday, June 4, 2014
White Sox vs. Dodgers at Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles (9:05 p.m., CT, CSN) in the rubber match of the three-game series with LA winning on Monday and the Sox emerging victorious last night. Starters: LHP John Danks (3-5, 4.66) for the Sox, RHP Josh Beckett (3-2, 2.52) for LA.
In his last start, on May 30 vs. the Padres, Danks threw seven innings allowing just two runs on eight hits while striking out four and walking one. It was his eighth quality start of the season.
Plays of the Day
It was indeed a good night for the Sox last evening. Hector Noesi won his first game since May 6, 2012, giving up just a run, five hits and four walks while striking out six in the 4-1 victory. Jose Abreu hit his second homer in as many nights, another two-run shot, in his successful return from the disabled list. It was his 17th of the season along with his 47 RBI. Tyler Flowers added his fifth home run of the year, a solo shot, and former Dodger Ronald Belisario returned triumphantly to Los Angeles with a 1-2-3 ninth for his fourth save.
