Quotes of the Day

Sox Assistant Scouting Director Nick Hostetler on Rodon:

“He’s an aggressive kid. He’s a tough-nosed kid…You know he’s in charge. When he’s on the mound, he takes the ball and he controls the game. He’s like that on the field, off the field. He’s got a makeup that a manager is going to love running out there every fifth day.”

Rodon on being selected by the Sox and his feelings about not being selected No. 1:

“I got picked by a great club, a lot of history. I’m looking forward to it.”

“I wouldn’t say disappointment (about not being the top pick). I would say motivation.”

Leury Garcia on hitting his first career homer in the Sox’ win over the Dodgers on Wednesday night:

“As soon as I hit it, I was running hard. I (thought) it was a triple, maybe, and then the ball was gone. I was surprised. It was my first homer ever. I had no idea, but it was awesome.”

Tomorrow’s Schedule
