Quote of the Day

Michael Taylor (pictured below), who was promoted to the White Sox for a September look-see, collected his first hit for the Sox on Wednesday night in a pinch-hitting role vs. the Twins. Sox hitting coach Todd Steverson, who worked with Taylor when they were both in the A’s organization, talked about the new Sox outfielder:

He really hasn’t had that much of a chance at the big-league level (with Oakland). He’s older now (28). He knows himself, knows the type of role he probably will have to play in today’s game, and hopefully it’ll work out for him. He’s a guy who knows the strike zone, knows how to take a walk, has some pop, uses the whole field.”
