Beltre signed with the Sox as a free agent in January after spending last year in the Rangers organization.

Quote of the Day

Robin on Emilio Bonifacio (via Colleen Kane at the Trib):

“(He has) energy, and he’s a smart player. You see him doing the small things–getting guys over, running the bases. He does a lot of things well. Having that kind of versatility, there’s not many people who can do that.”

Tomorrow’s Schedule

White Sox (Split Squad) vs. Rangers at Surprise (3:05 p.m., CT). Probable Sox starter: RHP Frankie Montas.

White Sox (Split Squad) vs. Giants at Camelback Ranch-Glendale (6:05 p.m., CT). Probable Sox starter: RHP Hector Noesi.

The start time of the second game was originally 2:05 p.m. CT, but was changed to accomodate MLB, which is working with HBO to film a special that day during Cactus League games. The production will be dedicated to the fight against cancer and will include a charitable component and awareness campaign.
