The Shark Speaks:

** On yesterday’s outing:

“It feels great. It’s all about proving yourself to these guys. You get new teammates and you want to come out here and make sure you prove your worth to them and they want to go out there and play with you and be out there on tough days like that. They went out there and played great for me and (Geovany Soto) called a great game and got me through it.”

** From one star to another. Samardzija on Abreu:

“Everybody knows what type of hitter he is. It’s great to be on the team and see how he works and how he prepares. We’re expecting big things out of him and we’re going to ride him as far as we can. He’s amazing.”
