Quote of the Day

Eaton on the good-natured ribbing he’s been getting for his comment about being the straw that stirs the drink.

“That’s the showing of a good team. I was fortunate to be on a couple of championship clubs in the minor leagues and that’s what you have in the clubhouse, just fun going and guys giving each other a hard time, t-shirts that make no sense and pictures of guys when they were in their teens. It’s fun loving…a club that can laugh together usually will win.”

I love the White Sox and am suffering with the road woes. Maybe a little “little ball” will help. Sacrifice a runner on first to second when there are no outs. I rarely see the team do scape for runs this way. There are many successful managers who manage this way.

Sometimes you have to stoke the fire with a run here and a run there. This team has few sacrifice bunts. I am reacting to the two double plays that Melchy hit into last night, but I noticed this last year. The team does not sacrifice bunt very often.
