Danks, Abreu & Company Eye Series Split With Indians
Thursday, May 21, 2015
White Sox vs. Indians at U.S. Cellular Field (7:10 p.m. CT, CSN) in the finale of the four-game series. Probable Starters: LHP John Danks (1-3, 5.12) for the Sox, RHP Danny Salazar (4-1, 4.06) for Cleveland.
Danks was outstanding in his last start, earning his second win in the Sox’ 4-3 victory over the A’s on Saturday. He gave up just two runs and three hits along with three walks while striking out six in seven innings. John is 1-0 with a 3.32 ERA in three starts at home this season.
Last Night’s Highlights
A ninth-inning rally fell just short as the Sox dropped a 4-3 decision to the Indians…Adam Eaton (No. 1) and Conor Gillaspie (2) each belted solo homers (click on links below) and Jose Abreu singled in the ninth to extend his hitting streak to 15…Eaton extended his hitting streak to nine games (.350 over that span) and Gillaspie is batting .333 over his last 10 …Carlos Rodon took the loss, but had a quality start as he gave up only a run and four hits along with five walks in six innings of work.

Quote of the Day
Jeff Samardzija on the recent success of the Sox’ starting rotation:
“It’s what we’re expecting out of ourselves. It’s not so much a rhythm, it’s getting back to what we expect every day we start. We know a lot goes with how we go, and as long as we get our offense back in the dugout we have a pretty good lineup to score some runs.”
White Sox vs. Twins at U.S. Cellular Field (7:10 p.m. CT, CSN) in the opener of a three-game weekend series. Probable Starters: RHP Samardzija (3-2, 4.58) for the Sox, RHP Phil Hughes (3-4, 4.76) for Minnesota.
