Quote of the Day
Robin on Abreu:
“He’s gotten into that category where people give their best stuff when he’s up. He’s going to see the guy’s best slider, curveball, best fastball running him in. You have to be in an elite category for that, and he’s earned it.”
Despite getting everyone’s best, Jose still is hitting .282 with the seven homers, 23 RBI and an .823 OPS.
Hawk to Miss Road Trip
Due to minor surgical procedure, Hawk Harrelson won’t accompany the Sox on the 11-game road trip. Replacing Hawk will be Bulls’ play-by-play man Chuck Swirsky, who will work alongside Steve Stone.
White Sox vs. Blue Jays at Rogers Centre (6:07 p.m. CT, WPWR). Probable Starters: LHP John Danks (2-4, 5.11) for the Sox, RHP R.A. Dickey (2-5, 5.49) for Toronto.
Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Sox’ championship season…
