This Afternoon’s Game

White Sox vs. Astros at Minute Maid Park (1:10 p.m. CT, WGN) in the rubber match of the three-game series. Probable Starters: LHP John Danks (2-4, 5.96) for the Sox, RHP Roberto Hernandez (2-3, 4.77) for Houston.

Yesterday’s Highlights

Jose Quintana tossed 6.1 solid innings, giving up a lone run, in the Sox’ 3-0 loss to the Astros…Geovany Soto, coming off his game-winning double on Friday night, reached base twice–once on a single, once on a throwing error…Avi Garcia returned to the lineup and singled…Gordon Beckham and Melky Cabrera both delivered base hits and made outstanding defensive plays (click on links below)…Jose Abreu sat out and was declared day-to-day with a swollen right index finger.

Robin on Avi’s excitement about getting back in the lineup yesterday after missing a few games due to a knee issue:

Our Blackhawks are on their way to the Stanley Cup Final to meet the Tampa Bay Lightning after last night’s 5-3 triumph over the Ducks. Go Hawks.

Off Day. On Tuesday night, it will be White Sox vs. Rangers at Globe Life Park, Arlington, Tex. (7:05 p.m. CT, CSN+) in the opener of a three-game series. Probable Starters: RHP Jeff Samardzija (4-2, 3.84) for the Sox, TBA for Texas.
