This Afternoon’s Game
White Sox vs. Tigers at Comerica Park, Detroit (12:08 p.m. CT, WGN) in the rubber match of what has turned out to be a three-game series because of yesterday’s rainout. Probable Starters: RHP Jeff Samardzija (5-4, 4.53) for the Sox, LHP David Price (7-2, 2.42) for Detroit.
Shark is set to make his 16th start of the season, 10th on the road and fourth vs. Detroit. He earned the win in his last start on June 23 vs. the Twins, allowing just two runs on eight hits over seven innings.
Yesterday’s postponed game has been rescheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 21 as part of a split doubleheader.

In Game 75 on June 28 at Detroit, the first-place White Sox trimmed the Tigers, 2-1, behind Mark Buehrle‘s 10th victory, Jermaine Dye‘s 16th homer, Juan Uribe‘s triple and Scott Podsednik‘s sac fly. The Sox moved to 51-24 on the season.
