Quotes of the Day
What they said about Avi’s catch…
@scotgregor: Take a bow Avi Garcia…mercy…what a catch. Best one I’ve seen since Dewayne Wise saved Buehrle’s perfect game.
@JJStankevitz: Goodness, that Avi Garcia catch. That’s something else. Full extension over the wall, timed it perfectly, saved the game.
@ChuckGarfien: That Garcia catch was the play of the year so far for the White Sox.
@ESPNChiSox: Robertson said he gave the save ball to Avi Garcia for the home-run saving catch. It was deserved.
J.B. Shuck: “That was one of the best I’ve ever seen.”
Baltimore’s Manny Machado, who tied the game with a two-run homer in the eighth inning: “He went out there and made a hell of a play.”
Sox Notes of Note

He is hitting .313 over his last 33 games and is batting .335 in the first inning lifetime…Cabrera has reached base safely in each of his last seven games and is batting .395 over his last 11…Garcia extended his hitting streak to seven games…LaRoche is batting .333 over his last 10.

Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Sox’ championship season…

Joe Crede went 2-3 with a solo homer (No. 12) in the seventh inning that broke a 3-3 tie. Frank Thomas, Aaron Rowand and Timo Perez added an RBI apiece and Dustin Hermanson registered his 19th save.
