Sox End Homestand on High Note, Royals Next After Day Off
Thursday, August 6, 2015
Avi Garcia hit a three-run homer (No. 9) in a five-run first inning (click on top link below) and drew a walk-off walk with the bases loaded in the 10th (click on second link) as the White Sox concluded the three-game series and six-game homestand with a big 6-5 extra-inning win…With the score knotted up at 5-5 heading into the bottom of the 10th, Adam Eaton singled, stole second and moved to third on an error. After Tyler Saladino flied out, Jose Abreu and Melky Cabrera both were intentionally walked, setting the stage for Garcia’s walk-off base on balls that scored Eaton…David Robertson pitched a perfect eighth and ninth and got credit for his fifth victory (click on bottom link).

“I feel stronger because I think we cleaned up my mechanics a little bit. I got everything going towards the plate, and it makes a lot less stress on everything else on your body. I feel stronger and I feel better.”
