Avi Garcia smashed a solo homer (No. 10) over the left field wall in the fourth inning and clubbed a three-run opposite field shot (11) in the sixth (click on top link below) as the White Sox got back on the winning side of the ledger with a 8-2 victory over the Angels in the series opener…In the third inning, Tyler Flowers hit a long blast over the 400-foot sign in centerfield (8) to give the Good Guys a 2-0 lead (click on second link)…Chris Sale returned to his All-Star form, winning his 10th game of the season by allowing just two runs and five hits while striking out seven in 7.1 innings of work (click on third link)…Nate Jones came on in relief of Sale and pitched 1.2 innings of scoreless ball…Melky Cabrera, Adam Eaton and Alexei Ramirez each collected a pair of hits and an RBI while Jose Abreu knocked out two hits with two runs scored…And check out yet another web gem by Alexei (click on bottom link).

The White Sox are 12-5 against the American League West in 2015, Sale is 3-0 with a 0.89 ERA against the AL West this season…Chris also is 4-0 with a 1.64 ERA against the Angels lifetime…The Sox are hitting .408 with 25 runs scored in the first inning over the last 16 games…Avi has homered four times in his last six…Melky is batting .408 with 12 doubles in his last 18 …Eaton is batting .377 with eight RBI over his last 18 contests…Abreu is hitting .344 over his last 17.
Managers Rank Sale No. 1 in American League
Baseball America polled MLB managers and compiled a list of the best players in baseball. Sale was named the best pitcher in the American League over the Astros’ Dallas Keuchel and the Rays’ Chris Archer. The managers also determined that Chris had the second-best changeup behind the Mariners’ Felix Hernandez and the third best slider (behind Archer and the Indians’ Corey Kluber).
