Tonight’s Game

White Sox vs. Indians at U.S. Cellular Field (7:10 p.m. CT, WPWR) in the middle game of the three-game series. Probable Starters: LHP Carlos Rodon (6-6, 4.10) for the Sox, RHP Carlos Carrasco (12-9, 3.53) for Cleveland.

Rodon makes his 24th appearance and 21st start of the season. He is 2-2 with a 1.85 ERA and 33 strikeouts over his last five starts. He is 1-0 with a 1.80 ERA and 14 Ks in three career games–and two starts–against the Tribe.

Yesterday’s Highlights

Chris Sale (12-8) gave up three runs and seven hits along with eight strikeouts over seven innings of work in the Sox’ 3-2 loss to the Indians in the series opener. Chris now has an American League-leading 247 Ks, 23 away from Hall of Famer Ed Walsh‘s single-season franchise record…Avi Garcia singled and tripled and Carlos Sanchez and Tyler Flowers each delivered an RBI…Matt Albers (1.1 IP) and Dan Jennings (0.2) came on in relief and pitched scoreless ball in the final two frames.

Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Sox’ championship season…

In Game 136 on September 6 at U.S. Cellular Field, the first-place White Sox scored five runs in the first two innings and held on for a 6-5 win over the Royals, their sixth straight victory and 86th of the season. Paul Konerko (No. 35) and Juan Uribe (12) belted solo homers and Konerko had three RBI in all. Orlando “El Duque” Hernandez won his ninth of the year and Dustin Hermanson earned his 33rd save.
