Today’s Spring Training News
This Afternoon’s Game
White Sox vs. Royals at Surprise (2:05 p.m. CT, WLS Radio). Carson Fulmer makes the start for the Sox vs. Ian Kennedy for KC.
Brett Lawrie, outfield prospect Jason Coats and Adam LaRoche all hit solo homers while catcher Hector Sanchez singled in two runs in the bottom of the ninth as the Sox came from behind to tie the Indians at 5-5. The game ended there as spring rules dictate no need for extra innings…Starter Jacob Turner pitched two scoreless innings (see story below).

Quote of the Day
Robin on a new and improved LaRoche and yesterday’s homer:
“He’s got a little different snap to him as far as swinging the bat. It looks a lot better. I know he’s in great shape, and the ball is coming off the bat a little better than it has, even last year. For now, it’s good to see him, especially against a lefty, get something like that.”
Question of the Day
A youngster named Sean sent the note above with a question for his favorite player and got the following response:
Thanks for being a great fan. I’m not superstitious, so my beard has nothing to do with that. It’s just something I like to have.
White Sox vs. Padres @Camelback Ranch-Glendale (2:05 p.m, WLS, whitesox.com). Carlos Rodon will make the start for the Sox.
