White Sox vs. Royals at Surprise (3:05 p.m. CT). Jacob Turner will start for the Sox.
Switch-hitting outfield prospect Jacob May (pictured above) belted a two-run homer right-handed, Avi Garcia drove in his 11th run of the spring and Todd Frazier chalked up an RBI single in the Sox’ 12-4 loss to the Diamondbacks at Camelback Ranch-Glendale.

Jacob on the advice his grandfather Lee May and great-uncle Carlos May, both former MLB All-Stars, have given him (via Paul Sullivan,Trib):
“They do a good job of telling me to be yourself, play the game the right way and play hard. Everything will be fine. If anything, it’s a little reassuring, giving me a little perspective throughout high school and college about how pro ball will be. The transition has been a little bit easier.”
The other day in the Sox cafeteria a certain player put his bagel in the toaster, just like he’s done most mornings during spring training. When the bagel seemed ready to pop out, the player realized one half of the bagel wouldn’t budge and smoke started filtering out of the appliance.
As if they were reading his mind, a group sitting nearby, including members of the staff, had a sense of what the player was about to do–attempt to rescue the bagel while risking injury to his hand–and in unison yelled, “Nooooooo!!”
Minutes later, another player got his bagel stuck the same way and, again, the toaster began to smoke. The group, still there, was about to shout another warning when this player turned to a staff member and said calmly, “Would you mind getting this for me?”–completely aware of the potential danger ahead.

Don’t be confused. There are two Sox named Sanchez in camp–infielder Carlos (No. 5) and catcher Hector (29). Here they are running sprints with Avi. By the way, Avisail is one of two Garcias (infielder Leury is the other) on the roster, but that’s another story for another day.
