All About Sale

Quote of the Day

Catcher Alex Avila, who caught Sale’s gem yesterday, on his talented batterymate:

“He’s always trying to get better, and I’m maybe trying to bring a little different perspective for him and see if he can make it a special season.”

Sox Notes of Note

The White Sox are enjoying their best 15-game start since 2006 and have a half-game lead over the Royals in the American League Central…The Sox bullpen is 1-0 with a 1.52 ERA and 35 strikeouts over its first 14 games of the season…Brett Lawrie walked a career-high three times yesterday, the most on the team this season…Adam Eaton (1), Todd Frazier (2) and Lawrie (1) each stole a base.

It’s all about recovery. Here’s Jerry Sands‘ perfect throw which cut down Mike Trout at second base in the ninth inning after the ball got by him at first base.
