The White Sox maintain their five-game lead over the Indians in the American League Central. The Sox’ 24-13 record (.649) is second only to the Orioles’ 23-12 (.657) in the A.L.

This Afternoon’s Game

Jose Quintana (5-2, 1.54) was on his game once again, allowing just two runs, five hits and a pair of walks along with five strikeouts in the Sox’ 2-1 loss to the Yankees. Jose now has an MLB-high eight starts this season with two or fewer earned runs allowed. He was previously tied with the Dodgers’ three-time N.L.
