White Sox (29-26) vs. Tigers at Comerica Park, Detroit (3:08 p.m. CT, CSN) in the second game of the three-game series. Starting Pitchers: LHP Chris Sale (9-1, 2.29) for the Sox, RHP Mike Pelfrey (0-5, 4.96) for Detroit.
Chris is set to make his 12th start of the season, seventh on the road and the first vs. the Tigers, looking to become the first 10-game winner in the major leagues this season. He leads the American League in wins, innings pitched (78.2) and WHIP (0.88), is tied for the lead in complete games (3) and shutouts (1), ranks second in opponents average (.177), third in ERA (2.29) and strikeout-to-walk ratio (4.75) and is tied for third in starts (11) and strikeouts (76).

Prior to last night’s game, the White Sox placed Melky Cabrera on the Family Emergency Leave List and recalled RHP Tommy Kahnle from Charlotte. Kahnle was optioned to the Knights after the game and OF Jason Coats has been recalled from Charlotte.

The game will be part of Detroit’s 14th annual Negro Leagues Weekend. The annual celebration marks the longest running three-day celebration of its kind in Major League Baseball.
