Quotes of the Day
TV voice Jason Benetti got a visit last night from Charlie, a nine-year-old boy using a walker because of a disability. Benetti took a few photos with the youngster and signed his trading card, the first he’s given away.
Benetti, who was born with cerebral palsy, had this exchange with the boy:
Jason: “Charlie, if anyone is ever surprised to see you doing things you shouldn’t be able to do, don’t say anything to them. Just keep doing it.”
Charlie: “You mean, like prove them wrong?”
Jason: “Yes, just keep proving them wrong.”
It certainly seems that Benetti has done exactly that on his way to an impressive broadcasting career. Charlie couldn’t have a better mentor.
Benetti, Stone Will Be in K Zone Tonight
With Sale on the mound, Benetti and Steve Stone will be broadcasting from the K Zone tonight.
After tomorrow’s off day, it will be the White Sox vs. Indians at Progressive Field, Cleveland (6:10 p.m. CT, CSN) in the opener of a three-game weekend series and seven-game road trip that continues with a four-game set in Boston. Starting Pitchers: LHP Jose Quintana (5-7, 2.66) for the Sox, RHP Trevor Bauer (4-2, 3.69) for the Tribe.
