Tonight’s Game

White Sox vs. Angels at Angels Stadium (8:05 p.m. CT, CSN) in the middle game of the three-game series after the Good Guys dropped Game 1 last night despite a solid performance by starter Miguel Gonzalez.

Starting Pitchers: RHP James Shields (2-3, 7.68) for the Sox, RHP Matt Shoemaker (4-9, 4.45) for L.A.

Shields executed his best start in a White Sox uniform last Sunday, allowing just a pair of runs on six hits. He has gone 2-1 with a 2.84 ERA and 13 strikeouts over his last four starts.

Catching Up…

Although he didn’t pitch last night, David Robertson is good to go after sitting out a few games with a leg injury…Carlos Rodon will play catch today to test his injured wrist and may be looking at a rehab start…In the next few days, Austin Jackson will have a followup MRI to check on his injured knee…September is the earliest Matt Davidson will be back from a broken foot…Zach Putnam also will play catch today to test his injured arm…Alex Avila hit yesterday and said he feels good.
